Admission

To be admitted to Class ONE, a girl must be 5 years plus in the current year. On a date fixed by the Principal, Registration forms will be issued on which the date for the Entrance Test will be indicated. With the application form the birth certificate must be produced. The date of birth once entered will not be changed.

No student from another school will be admitted without a Transfer Certificate. She is also required to appear for an Entrance Test.

The final decision with regard to admission rests with the Principal.

Recommendations are NOT Considered and donations NOT ACCEPTED.

The school must receive, one month in advance, a letter notifying discontinuance from Tuition and Bus or fees for both these items will be charged for one full month prior to withdrawal of a student from school.The Transfer Certificate will not be issued until fees, etc. have been paid in full.

The school year begins in April (Baisakh) and ends in March (Chaitra).There will be winter holidays in December/January. Holidays will be given in October/November for Dasain and Diwali.

St. Mary’s High School follows the National Curriculum of Nepal from Grade 1 to Grade 10. At the end of grade 10 the students sit for their Secondary Education Examination (SEE), which is conducted nationwide by the Ministry of Education, Office of the Controller of Examination, Nepal. The subjects offered by the school are:
Nepali, English, Comp Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health Population & Environment Education, Optional Mathematics or English

St. Mary’s Secondary School is only for girls.

Class XI and XII in St. Mary’s Secondary School started in 1995. We admit those passing the SEE Examination. Since it is a continuation of the school, students are expected to wear college uniform and conform to the rules and discipline as laid down in the diary.

After the SEE, the students can follow any of the three groups: Grades 11 and 12 (Science) syllabus of NEB Nepal, which is a two years course. In grade 11, the Subjects offered in

Science Group Compulsory English, Nepali, Compulsory Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Management Group Compulsory English, Nepali, Social Studies & Life Skills, Economics, Accountancy and Business Maths / Business Studies.
Humanities Group Compulsory English, Nepali, Sociology, Social Studies & Life Skills, Mass Communication and Opt. English.

The Examinations for classes 11 and 12 are conducted by the National Examination Board of Nepal (NEB). The exams are held in the month of April/May. 75% attendance for theory and practical in classes 11 and 12 are required to make the students eligible for the NEB Exam.
